"Open links from other programs" option does not work
I know I have heard of other conflicts in other office programs but I am unable to specifically recall which programs and what problems. After furious head scratching, Len asked: For that matter, does any of Office 2000 work with Vista. The Vista upgarde center does not say either way.

Still using Windows firewall until Zone alarm bring out a stable VISTA version. Also, only installed word, powerpoint and excel from office XP. It works great w/ word pad, but not w/ Microsoft Works Word [I mean the commands work great, but not the speech recognition] I was curious if you had to buy Microsoft Office to get speech recogniton to work? Really? I've heard people say to install in your Users directory, where ¤ normally only data is kept, and that such apps would work there. Now, I ¤ think that's a bad idea. But thought there might be other areas not so ¤ tightly controls as the Program Files area. Like I said the rules don't change.

Did you check to see if the program works? Sometimes that warning comes up incorrectly, especially with older, non-Vista compliant software.
